At the last count, France was the most visited country in the world. Why should this be? We think it’s because France has simply everything: romance, culture, cuisine, fabulous countryside, mountains for skiing in winter or walking in summer, glorious beaches, medieval villages, the Côte d’Azur, Paris. We could go on and on, but someone else put it so much better: (see here).

All this makes for a varied choice of little hotels that match our remit, to bring you only the hotels that we ourselves would want to stay in. In fact, these are not all classed as hotels, with an array of bed & breakfasts or maison d’hôtes and country cottages (gîtes). In every case though, the accommodation is something special: a beautiful building, charming hosts, a lovely location, good food, value for money.

We have just a few hotels here to start with. The hotels we list are carefully chosen, so it takes time for us to build up a comprehensive portfolio of hotels that are worthy to be included here.
